SR 29 Widening from CR 80A (Cowboy Way) to Whidden Road, Hendry County, FL

TLP was responsible for final design and preparation of construction drawings and specifications for the proposed improvements to SR 29 from CR 80A (Cowboy Way) to CR 731 (Whidden Road). The improvements to SR 29 north of the Caloosahatchee River will be to widen to a four-lane divided highway with turn lanes, a grassed median, sidewalks, a shared-use path and upgrading three intersections to roundabouts. South of the river, along Main Street and Bridge Street, improvements will focus on safety and mobility through reconstruction of the roadway vertical profiles, intersection upgrades, installation of sidewalks and the addition of roundabouts along SR 80. This project also involves replacing the two-lane bascule bridge over the Caloosahatchee River with parallel northbound and southbound bascule bridges to improve operational efficiency and long-term reliability.
