SR A1A Repairs from Hurricane Matthew, Flagler County, FL
TLP, as a subconsultant, provided maintenance of traffic plans for this project to stabilize three segments of SR A1A (Segment 1 – from S 28th Street to S 22nd Street; Segment 2 – from S 22nd Street to S 9th; Segment 3 – from N 18th Street to Osprey Drive) due to damage caused by Hurricane Matthew. The project required coastal analysis and modeling to deliver cost-effective engineering solutions that addressed future storm surge, wave action and anticipated scour depths. In addition to analysis and design, the project required review of access to properties adjacent to SR A1A in conjunction with the appropriate traffic control plan, provision for maintenance of pedestrian and bicycle traffic, restoration of signing and pavement markings and a permanent ban of beachside parking along these three segments of SR A1A to properly establish dune vegetation.
